A Man Under Instruction

A Man Under Instruction

A few years ago, I had an opportunity to work with one of the largest independent investment companies and the Lord showed me great favour in this organisation in that everything I touched was successful.

During my stay in the company, I was approached by one of my senior managers to move to another site to assist on a project with an incentive, which made the offer attractive and I concurred.

On getting to the site on the first day, which was additional 45minutes journey daily, I met with this manager at about 7:30am after going through the security and the first statement I heard from him after good morning was – “I do not want you to bring the rubbish you guys do at your site to this site”. I was shell shocked for it took him about 6 months and additional payment to convince me to accept this offer.

I was dumbfounded and I will be forever grateful to God for the response I gave him. In my mind, I wanted to give him a piece of my mind and tell him to stuff his job and return to my office but the Holy Spirit took over and I heard myself saying – “I am a man under instructions, I am here to carry out your instructions as you want it to be done” This was the first time I heard this statement by anyone

This particular revelation contributes to the favour I had in the organisation until God trusted me with the responsibility to pioneer the ministry here at Gates of Praise.

Over the years, based on the revelations from the experience above and the Holy Word, I have found out that God is obligated to bless a man or a woman who knows how to operate under the mandate of heaven.

Secondly, our appliances or devices are optimized if we follow the manufacturers instructions.

Jesus Christ gave us insights into this truth in the following scriptures:

John 4:34 – “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work”

John 5:30 – “I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me”
John 6:38 – “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me”

These statements by the Lord Jesus Christ are quite phenomenal – all give insights into our blessings, fulfilment and effectiveness in life. Being a person under the instruction of the Father through His Word and His Spirit is the key to victorious living – and my prayer for all my readers is that your hearts will yield and submit to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

If the truth is to be spoken, this is where the struggle is for many, but in different areas hence the need for the continuous filling of the Holy Spirit in our lives. No one can claim to have attained. I like what the Paul the Apostle wrote in Philippians 3:12-14 – “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”

So for every believer and child of God, it is about obeying and living according to the Father’s instructions if anyone will live a fulfilled and a blessed life. It is not so much about the number of deliverance programmes you are able to attend.

So how do I discover the divine instructions?

  1. Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour
  2. Ask God to fill you with the power of His Holy Spirit
  3. Enrol in a Christian Discipleship Program
  4. Commit to Daily Bible Study and Prayer
  5. Commit to a Christian Fellowship Meeting

As you partake in the above, you will see God working things out for you and giving you sweat-less victory.

And if you notice an area of struggle in your life, speak to God sincerely about it first and talk to your pastor (spiritual leader/father/mentor) to pray for you and to help to hold you accountable – this is how you learn to practice submission to the divine will.

I am confident of God’s goodness and kindness for your life as you seek to live by the divine instructions.

If you are reading this and you truly want to restore your relationship with God why don’t you say this prayer.

Heavenly Father, Thank you for Jesus Christ

I acknowledge Him as the Son of God

I repent of my sins and turn to You.

Forgive me, cleanse me, change me and make me

The person you created me to be.

I receive You Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord.

Thank you Father God, in Jesus name – Amen.

If you have prayed that prayer genuinely, your sins are forgiven. Find a Bible believing Church that is close to you and reveal yourself to other believers. Also, ask for the opportunity to be baptised in water. God bless you richly as you seek His will.
